Q. What are your office hours?
A. Afternoon and Evening hours are available. Contact me to set up an appointment.
Q. What about insurance coverage for your services?
A. I currently only accept Fidelis insurance at this time. For other insurances, some insurance plans cover in full or in part (example: Aetna, Signa, Tricare ) or employee benefit plan by submitting a receipt for reimbursement as out-of-network provider. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions before our first appointment:
* Do I have mental health benefits?
* What is my deductible and has it been met?
* How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
* How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
* What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
* Is approval required from my primary care physician?
Insurance companies will not reimburse you without having access to paperwork from me including a diagnosis of a "disorder". This diagnosis can stay in your insurance files indefinitely and is not necessarily confidential. It can be requested under certain circumstances by outside parties. Aside from this, many clients like the fact that the work we do together represents an investment that they make in themselves giving them a greater sense of empowerment and freedom. Please consider the insurance decision carefully.
Q. Do you offer reduced fees?
A. On a limited basis I offer sliding scale appointments based on your income and ability to pay.
Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted.
Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. If you do not show for your scheduled appointment and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session. It is important to realize that this missed appointment slot could have been offered to someone else. Please understand and respect this policy.
Q. Is therapy confidential?
A. In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and a psychotherapist. Information is not disclosed without written permission. However, there are number of exceptions to this rule. Exceptions include but are not limited to:
1. Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse. The therapist is required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
2. If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s. The therapist must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
3. If a client intends to harm himself or herself. The therapist will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in insuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, further measures may be taken without their permission in order to ensure their safety.
